Put This Episode Into Action

Where Is Ownership Unclear in Your Business?

Think about one process that regularly creates confusion, delays, repeated questions, or work that ends up back on your plate.

It could be:

Client Onboarding • Billing • Content • Sales • Hiring • Customer Service • Project Delivery

Now ask:

Does every task within that process have a clearly defined owner?

The Optima Method is built around six foundations:

Vision • Operations • Process • Leadership • Growth • Personal

Unclear ownership often isn't an isolated task problem. It can be a sign that the Operations, Process, or Leadership foundation of your business needs stronger structure.

Take the Free Business Foundation Assessment

Identify where your business needs more clarity and determine which foundation you should strengthen first.

Already Know What You Need to Work On?

Knowing that you need clearer roles is one thing. Actually documenting them and building accountability into your operations is the next step.

The Optima Foundation Academy gives you ready-to-use templates, guides, and operational tools, including frameworks designed to help you document processes, clarify responsibilities, delegate more effectively, and create stronger accountability.

Stop relying on assumptions about who handles what.

Create clarity around who does the work, owns the outcome, provides input, and needs visibility.

One Action to Take After This Episode

Choose one process in your business.

Then:

  1. List every task.
Get specific about what actually happens within the process.

  2. Identify who is Responsible.
    Who actually performs the work?

  3. Assign one Accountable owner.
Who ultimately answers for the outcome?

  4. Identify who should be Consulted.
Who needs to provide input before a decision is made?

  5. Identify who should be Informed.
Who needs visibility but doesn't need to take action?

  6. Communicate the RACI.
Don't simply create the document. Review it with the people involved and make sure everyone agrees on the ownership.

You don't need to map your entire business today.

Start with one process. Define the ownership. Remove the assumptions.

Because if everyone owns it, no one owns it.
